How can I get survey responses from companies?

About two out of every three people who receive surveys claim they finish at least half of them. And there are 5 strategies you can use to ensure respondents are satisfied, whether you're conducting feedback surveys to clients, patients in the medical field, or just about anyone else:

1. Go Online

  • Why? Our survey found that a staggering 91% of individuals prefer to conduct a feedback survey online, either by submitting their answers via a website (63%) or by an email (28%). Only 3% of respondents to the study said they preferred to mail their answers.
  • Our data indicate that people are probably filling out online surveys between 7 and 8 a.m. on Thursdays and Fridays. and 1 p.m. PST. Sending out survey queries during periods of high response rates may help you get more responses more quickly.

2. Keep it Short

  • Look at that dropoff, eh? 33% are willing to spend up to 10 minutes on your feedback form, while 45% are only willing to spend up to 5. People claimed they were willing to spend a little more time on feedback surveys, though, when we narrowed down the sample by only included those who said they complete all or most of the surveys they receive:
  • Only 33% of respondents claim to spend 5 minutes or less on surveys, while 36% are willing to devote 6 to 10 minutes. Even 17% of respondents claim they would spend 15 minutes answering a poll. Therefore, don't give up if you still have any questions.

3. Consider Incentives

  • Oh, the rewards. There are various benefits and drawbacks to survey incentives. And 34% of respondents claim that receiving a prize, gift, or discount is the main incentive for completing a feedback survey.
  • On the one hand, you don't want to incentivize satisficers (those who skip through surveys and don't take them seriously) to provide you with feedback.
  • On the other side, unless they have a really strong view of you, whether positive or negative, individuals might not feel forced to give you feedback. You need responses from a representative sample of your population, not just the extremes, if you want to get an accurate picture of how you're truly performing.
  • In addition, our findings show that those that provide you with feedback do it voluntarily and honestly: A staggering 95% of respondents claim to provide accurate feedback survey responses frequently or always.
  • And those who claim to participate in surveys only for the potential prize? And 94% of them claim to always or mostly always provide honest responses.
  • A gift card, cash, or a discount were the three options people cited as their preferred incentives when questioned. You might also try our strategy: Every time a respondent completes a survey, donate to their preferred charity.

4. Be Clear and Applicable

  • 40% of respondents claim that a survey question's ambiguity caused them to provide an erroneous response, while 31% claim that the question didn't relate to them.
  • The bad news is that the data generated by the questions you submit might not be accurate. But the good news is that as well!
  • You can manage data quality on your end because 71% of respondents claim that the logistical issues raised by your survey, rather than their own dishonest behaviour, are the reason they submit false responses.

5. Follow Up

  • Recall how 34% of participants claimed they completed surveys in order to receive a prize or gift? According to 22% of respondents, completing feedback surveys is largely something they love doing, while 20% indicated they do it to support the organisation that is asking. How lovely!
  • In fact, while 56% of respondents claim they have received the same number of feedback surveys this year as they did last, 22% report receiving more and believe this is a good thing.
  • Although we are moved by people's generosity, your responses acknowledge that their comments are having an impact, but perhaps not in the way you'd want to think.
  • As you can see, only 40% of people believe that businesses and organisations give feedback surveys a moderate amount of consideration.
  • But it's a good idea to show individuals you care about what they have to say in order to encourage them to continue helping you grow if you want to keep sending out surveys so you can set benchmarks and track your organization's performance over time.
  • Beyond a thank you page or incentive, express your gratitude to consumers for taking the time to participate in your survey. Post a summary of your findings on your website, or request contact information from respondents so you may follow up with them. Inform them of the ways in which you have benefited from their suggestions.

Where can I find medical journals that accept online surveys?

7 trustworthy search engines for health-related content

1. PubMed

  • For health writers, PubMed is often the first online search engine that springs to mind. It is a free online repository of medical journal articles hosted by the National Library of Medicine of the United States National Institutes of Health (NLM).
  • It searches multiple databases, including MEDLINE and others produced by the NLM, such MedlinePlus, and has over 25 million records in it. By entering search phrases to the MeSH (Medical subject text heading) field in PubMed, you can quickly narrow your search by topic and locate certain journal articles.
  • If you're writing patient education materials, it's also a terrific resource.

2. Ovid

  • Other search engines, like Ovid, Ebscohost, and ProQuest, search MEDLINE if you have a login access from your institution. Like PubMed, Ovid is a search engine.
  • In comparison to PubMed, it has the advantage of searching more databases, such as EMBASE and the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, in addition to MEDLINE (CDSR).
  • As a result, your search will return more results, giving you more supporting data for your work.

3. Web of Science

  • Thomson Reuters provides Web of Science with a big database containing 8,700 worldwide scientific journals. A subscription is necessary to view the articles in the database, which contains content from numerous Asian-language worldwide media.
  • If you're drafting protocols or guidelines, Web of Science is a handy database you can search to find academic research information on new trends. It spans more than 250 fields in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.

4. ScienceDirect

  • ScienceDirect may be a name you are already accustomed to. The fact that it is a full-text scientific resource will be very helpful to you when you need to read more than just the abstract before writing.
  • You can use the search engine to find articles in more than 3,800 academic publisher Elsevier-owned journals of science, technology, and medicine.
  • SpringerLink, a similar site with access to more than five million articles in journals run by the publisher Springer, is another option.

5. Scopus

  • According to a review written in 2006 by an American researcher, Scopus can be an excellent complement to Web of  Science if you frequently use it to look for articles because neither database has all publications.
  • Elsevier also owns Scopus, a big database with approximately 60 million pieces of peer-reviewed literature. Scopus connects to the MEDLINE and EMBASE databases to conduct journal article record searches.
  • More than 4,200 full-text journals' full-text articles are available to you, but certain full-text journal articles may require a login and subscription.

6. Cochrane Library

  • Search the Cochrane Library if you're seeking for systematic reviews or meta-analyses. Cochrane library searches can return results from control trials in MEDLINE and EMBASE, Cochrane protocols, and editorials in addition to CDSR (Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews) results.
  • A search engine with a subscription model is Cochrane Library. Nevertheless, depending on when the paper was published, some open-access articles might be retrievable.

7. Google Scholar

  • A free medical journal search engine called Google Scholar indexes journal articles from several databases.
  • If you frequently use Google to conduct online searches, using Google Scholar will come rather naturally to you, and you will be able to navigate and filter the results to your search needs with ease.
  • After your initial search, Google Scholar is a fantastic secondary search engine to employ. A search in Google Scholar can frequently assist you in discovering an article if you're having problems finding it.
